Features

One of the best features of a Swardman reel mower is the cut design it leaves behind as it slices through the grass. The look of a lawn after a Swardman reel mower goes through it will have the backyard looking like a golf course or a baseball stadium.

Swardman’s battery operated reel mowers are very quiet compared to gas powered lawn mowers, even the Edwin 2.1! The battery operation is a popular feature of the Electra reel mower, people really appreciate how quiet it is.

Swardman reel mowers are also cylinder mowers. A cylinder mower uses a sharp spiral blade horizontally and the grass is then fed through the spinning blades and is cut with a stationery knife.

Cut Quality

Swardman Electra Reel Mower metal deck

Swardman’s reel mowers cut grass in an English style. The English style cut lawn originated approximately in the 17th century and is a symbol of wealth and prosperity. Back in the 17th century those who could afford large pieces of land and didn’t have buildings on it were deemed to be rich.

The deck of a mower is the part that protects both the user and the engine from the blades and any dirt or rocks that might get kicked up and cause an injury while mowing. Most decks are made of plastic, steel, or aluminum. Usually, the lower-end lawn mowers are the ones that have a plastic deck, although that is not always the case. The Swardman mowers are protected by a metal deck that is not only strong and capable, but it is also stylish.

Durability

The metal deck which protects the blades from any debris is a very durable cover compared to other reel mowers which use materials like plastic for their decks. In fact, there are not many plastic parts at all on the Swardman reel mowers. Almost all of the reel mower is made from metal. The metal deck makes the Swardman stand out from the other reel mowers on the market.

The Electra, Swardman’s reel mower that is battery operated, boasts a long-lasting battery. According to the Landzie Website, the Electra can mow up to 15,000 square feet on a single charge. The metal finishings and the long-lasting battery make the Swardman reel mower a mower that will be in the family for a very long time.

Aesthetics

Compared to other reel mowers on the market, The Edwin 2.1 and the Electa are very stylish lawnmowers. The metal exterior gives the reel mowers a unique look that helps them to stand out visually from other reel mowers on the market that use plastic or aluminum decks and materials.

Build Quality

Edwin 2.1 build

The Edison 2.1 and the Electra are very well-made mowers. They are both made with a high-quality and durable metal material. A reel mower made of metal is much more likely to last than a mower made with plastic or aluminum materials.

Pros/Cons

One positive aspect of the Swardman reel mower is that the Electra reel mower is a cordless and battery-operated mower that allows for easy move-ability. The Electra model has low operational costs because they are not powered by an engine.

A major con of buying a Swardman reel mower is the high price. The costs for the mower range between $2,100 and $4,000! Yes, $4,000. You pay for what you get though because all Swardman reel mower reviews say that it is a high-quality lawnmower.
