The EGO ST1521S is truly a difficult string trimmer to beat. The price will be a little higher than the RY40250 but I think it is definitely worth it. The power and run time are a little better on the EGO trimmer and it is much lighter. If you are trimming for any duration of time, this will be a pretty big difference.
This isn't to discredit the Ryobi though. They still have a great string trimmer at a great price. If you have a smaller yard with only a little trimming this may be the best option for you.
