Altoz TSX Stand On Mower Review

The Altoz TSX is a great mower that will last you many years on large acres of land. People have different reasons as to why they mow land but the goal is still the same of keeping the grass low. This mower isn't the typical lawn mower you get from Home Depot or Lowes.

This mower is a heavy-duty investment that will last you decades. It is also a hill climbing machine that is capable of holding a hillside very well while mowing. The Altoz TSX is the first track style stand on mower to hit the market. This is definitely a specialty mower for very specific situations, but we'll find out in this review if it's the mower for you.

Power

The engine uses a 29.5 hp Kawasaki® FX 852cc EFI, which is great, regardless of where you are using the mover. It has a good amount of power for almost every mowing situation.

Here when you pay for this machine, you don't need to compromise on any of the essential functions that make a good product. It also uses a Parker Wheel Motors Hydro-Gear® Pump transmission since many people who use this product are going to be moving up and down across terrain.

Features

When using the Altoz TSX, one of the first things that you will notice is the speed that you are able to move in it with. 10 MPH is at the same speed as some of the top models and even exceeds the top speed that a majority of mowers go at. For perspective, this is around the top speed the average person will go at when they are sprinting. There is also a command deck as you drive the mover to make adjustments for easier travel and cutting.

Altoz TSX Stand On Mower Review - command deck
  • Powerful kawasaki EFI engine
  • Parker wheel motors and Hydro-Gear Pumps
  • mows at up to 10 mph
  • TSX all-terrain track system
  • TSX HV all-terrain deck

Cut Quality

This mower is a bit more brush mower than a normal mower. This isn't made to give the best possible cut. It is made to mow fields, large slopes, and other rough terrains. Since this deck is rear discharge it will naturally suffer some cut quality as opposed to a side discharge deck.

Besides the actual cut quality, this deck has some great features that really make it thrive in brush cutting and mowing fields. The blades have pivoting points so they will move if you hit an immovable object. This will prevent you from ruining the spindles, clutch, and engine.

Overall, this is a well built deck for its intended use. It does a good job of mowing rough terrain and discharging a lot of grass at a time.

Durability

This mower is incredibly durable for all the functions it's expected to perform. The TSX has a great blade for cutting across a lot of the land that the drivers are going to be using. The engine was made to last for decades, and so far, many of the people who got this machine are happy with how it has performed. Of course, that answer can change in the future, but if there are problems, Altoz's staff is more than accommodating to assist with those issues.

This is a machine that you can push without feeling like you have to sacrifice on performance or the future lifespan of the mower. You may have to get it checked for an inspection every once in and while but that's not too much to worry about.

Comfort

The comfort is very good when compared to a lot of the mowers that you will test out. When someone goes out and uses these mowers, they are generally going to be there for a couple of hours at the least. Most customers agree that the standing area that you have is more than enough to satisfy you as someone who rides this machine. It's also comforting in the position that your legs are extended. Some people develop blood clots due to their legs not getting the proper movement that they need to be free.

Aesthetics

Aesthetically speaking, the Altoz TSX is awesome looking. Grey and red really go well to look at and there are some nice tones to give it some visual variety as well. It won't ever have the look of a nice car or bike, but it does stand out from a lot of the mowers that the average person uses. The size gives it a sense of scale and importance that most people who use these mowers never get to feel. Regardless of how newer mowers are going to be designed in the future, the look is going to age very nicely.

Build Quality

The build quality of the mower is a standout achievement which is one of the best parts about it. Many of the materials that were used aren't going to rust on you and have many tests that have been done to make the best mower possible. Unless you do something reckless or with the intent to break the mower, it is probably not going to break on you.

Though the machine is made well, that doesn't mean that you shouldn't contact maintenance or be a responsible owner in general. Even with the build quality being great, there are still limits

Pros

  • Great price for what the customer is getting
  • Build quality that is made to last for many decades
  • Has a stylish look to it that many mowers lack these days
  • Has some of the most consistent cuts among the competition of mowers
  • It's comfortable to stand on even for many hours
  • Good financing options as well as retaining the value in the aftermarket
  • Uses a combo of some of the most respected engines and transmissions on the market

Cons

  • Hard to find among farmers in smaller states
  • Not affordable for most people and costs more than a car
  • Parts are expensive to fix if you happen to break anything in the mower

Wrapping it up

Overall, this is a great mower for just about anyone that can afford it and has the need for it. It has a great engine made by Kawasaki and can hold a hillside very well.

On top of that, the durability is great and will last through just about anything that you throw at it through those acres of land. It's a hard mower to find because not many people carry them, however, if you live in a bigger state, you should have no problem finding one to use.
